Kenya’s notorious rally driver Maxine Wahom pleaded not guilty today to murdering her then-boyfriend Asad Khan.
Presenting his case virtually, Wahom, who is at Kilimani Police Station, said he is not guilty of killing Khan, who was also a rally driver.
The court ordered that all statements be given to the accused and scheduled a bail hearing for March 21, 2023.
After denying the charge, the prosecution applied to remand her in Langata Women’s Prison.
“This 25-year-old young lady has been released on a 100,000 shekel bond,” said Maxine’s lawyer Philip Murgor.
However, the lawyer of the victims, Dunstan Omari, requested that he be given time to respond to the bail.
Judge Lilian Mutende allowed Omari’s plea to be given time to respond to the bail application.
