They often say that sports stars can get big enough to have their own gravity. Such is the case with Tiger Woods in golf. Even if he’s past his prime and struggling just to play a healthy four rounds at this stage in his career, the 15-time major winner is still golf’s biggest star and figure. And it’s turned to 11 at a place like The Masters.
Tiger is a five-time champion at Augusta National Golf Club with his record wins spanning an unreal 23 tournaments (1997 and 2019). It’s a special place where he’s thrived in practice every time he’s played, which is why the Masters was the obvious place for him to return in 2022. Now he’s back at Augusta National and it’s back in 2023.
Woods is grouped with two of the best players in the world right now: American and Olympic gold medalist Xander Schaufele and Norwegian sensation Viktor Hovland. It should be a very entertaining group to watch on Thursday and Friday with two possible contenders for living legend.

When does Tiger play? Thursday and Friday Tiger Woods Masters times
Tiger, Xander and Hovland will advance relatively early in the first round on Thursday as they tee off at 10:18 a.m. ET. As such, Woods and his group will then advance to Friday’s final round of the second round at 1:24 PM ET.
For Woods, as he continues to test his foot’s sweet spot while still dealing with the aftermath of his 2021 car accident, getting an early/late draw at The Masters is huge. That should give him as much time as possible to recover physically, and perhaps allow him to make it one more time at Augusta National.
