When they decided to give quarterback Lamar Jackson an exclusive option, they opened their chaotic offseason.
Jackson is free to sign with any team, though the Ravens can match any offer.
For some reason, there was not much interest in Jackson.
He is a former league MVP and is still in the prime of his career.

Meanwhile, as the Ravens have gone through the offseason, they have struggled to sign multiple free agents.
That could be because they don’t have a franchise quarterback under contract.
Former NFL player Darius Butler said on the Pat McAfee Show: “Take care of the big domino. You need to lock Lamar down. Receivers, (Darius) Slay, other players, all these guys won’t pull that trigger until you establish that quarterback position.”

The Ravens are playing a dangerous game with Jackson and their entire team.
Everyone around the NFL respects Jackson for what a great player he is.
So if the Ravens refuse to pay him, it will leave a bad taste in many players’ mouths.
Jackson has already come out and said he asked the Ravens for a trade.
But signing a contract he deserves can solve all the problems.
While it will look strange for Jackson to play in a different uniform, it’s starting to look like he’ll have a new place to call home in 2023.
