Telecom Egypt automates network with IBM

Egypt Telecom selected IBM automation technologies to enhance its OSS systems across mobile, fixed and core networks to enable the operator to reduce operational costs and minimize time to find and fix network incidents.

The operator will use IBM Cloud Pak for Watson AIOs hosted on RedHat OpenShift and will also use IBM Robotic Process Automation solutions.

Telecom Egypt will be able to automatically monitor network operational capacity and service quality in Egypt, IBM said in a statement. Doing this manually would require 18 hours of data collection and review.

CEO of Telecom Egypt Adel Hamad said: “We are always keen to invest in the development and modernization of our networks to ensure that our customers receive the best communication and information technology services.

“We are excited to work with IBM as our technology partner to improve the operational efficiency of our networks, leverage automation capabilities, and reduce the time required to monitor and repair incidents, thereby improving the quality of service we provide to our customers.”
