FRANCE 24 spoke to former Saudi intelligence chief Turki al-Faisal following the announcement that Iran and Saudi Arabia had agreed to restore diplomatic relations. The prince expressed hope that the China-brokered deal last week would be a game-changer for the region, citing Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and especially Yemen, where deadly conflict has led to the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. The former ambassador to the United States and Great Britain also explained why China is the “logical partner” in the implementation of the deal.
