Dublin beat Louth in the opening round of the 2023 Leinster Minor Football Championship.

Dublin took a quick lead in the opening seconds of the game thanks to a fantastic opener from Noah Byrne.

Dublin soon took control of the match while Louth struggled to get into the opposition half and conceded many possessions.
Points from Lenny Cahill, Harry Curley and Sean Ryan saw Dublin extend their lead. Dublin 1-9 (12) and Louth 0-6 at the break. (6).
Louth came out firing in the second half and Shane Lennon’s goal and Luke O’Boyle’s point saw them close the gap.
This set the stage for an entertaining second half. Adam Gillespie finished with 8 points for Louth. Many substitutes, including Colin McAveeney, Andrew O’Reilly, Adam Rock, Ben Kennedy and Callum Johnston, stopped the game in the final 10 minutes.
Dublin were able to maintain their lead despite Louth’s best efforts and closed the game with two excellent points from Lenny Cahill and Patrick Coleman.
Dublin eventually won by 1-15 (18) to 1-10 (13).
All in all, it was an exciting game, with both teams showing great skill and determination. Louth’s efforts should not be overlooked and they still face Dublin in the Leinster final.
