Before the NFL Combine, Jalen Carter was considered the top pick to be the number one overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
However, there were reports of a car accident he was involved in, which sparked debate about Carter’s character.
Carter performed well at the combine despite the rumors circulating about him.
The same couldn’t be said for his recent Pro Day, per ESPN’s Mark Schlabach .
Update: Georgia DL Jalen Carter was unable to complete his position drills due to labored breathing and cramping, per . @Mark_Schlabach:

Many reports indicated that Carter was significantly heavier at this Pro Day than he was at the combine.
He was also unable to do many of the exercises due to cramping, which many attributed to his weight gain.
After these reports broke, many NFL fans reacted on Twitter, commenting on what this means for Carter’s future.

Some fans have come to the conclusion that Carter is just doing his workouts so he can move down in the draft and be able to play for a contender.
However, there is a dramatic difference in guarantee money between the first overall pick and the 30th overall pick.
Not many people are buying this story, including this fan.
I hate to call a player a bust too early, but all these recent incidents scream it. I also don’t believe he’s intentionally throwing his stock away for a better team bc it’s a lot less money to go down in the 1st round to the 2nd. Hopefully he gets into a good situation and pulls it together.

Carter’s weight gain and decreased production may be the result of his recent off-the-field incidents.
As another fan adds, Carter recently felt the death of his teammate.
Let’s remember that this young man lost his teammate a few months ago. I feel for him and the “Georgia” organization. Just my penny of thought

After all, very few people are familiar with the situation because Carter hasn’t said much publicly.
The next few weeks will be telling as more information about Carter is likely to emerge.
With the draft quickly approaching, the public will soon find out what NFL teams really think of Carter.
