NEWS. The Liverpool star collapsed in the fight for the Reds

Liverpool youngster Ben Doak collapsed during the UEFA Youth League clash with Sporting Lisbon as medics visited Scotland following a horrific under-21 clash.

Liverpool youngster Ben Doak caused worrying scenes in Liverpool’s last UEFA Youth League game after collapsing on the pitch.

The 17-year-old fell to the floor after a headbutt with a Sporting player, who initially managed to stay on his feet.

Medics ran onto the pitch to help the Liverpool player as the referee stopped play. He eventually stood up, but was promptly replaced.

The incident happened just eight minutes into the match, in which Rodrigo Ribeiro scored the only goal of the game after 65 minutes.

Doak stumbled a few steps into the challenge before collapsing. He was accompanied by several medics as players from both sides looked on nervously.

The two players appeared to collide heads while grabbing the ball in mid-air, although the Sporting player was unhurt.
