What was your inspiration? What inspired me to continue was the fact that I went through a traumatic pregnancy that left me as a single parent. I could either do one of two things.

  • Sit down and be miserable, I wish my life was miserable
  • Or I could get up every day and exercise, seek therapy, and be a physically and mentally strong mother to my child.

How have you changed your eating habits? I have cut down on alcohol a lot. I still enjoyed my glass of wine, but I cut back on the liquor. I ate five small meals every 2-3 hours and stopped eating at 8pm. I also started upping my protein a lot more. I have never eaten so many egg whites in my life lol.

What is your workout routine? I wake up every morning at 5 o’clock before my son wakes up. I set up a little exercise station in my apartment. I do a mix of weight training and HIIT. I also love dance fitness.

How often did you exercise?
I trained 5-6 days a week.

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started out at 213 lbs. I currently weigh 160 lbs.

How tall are you?
5’4″

When did you start your journey?
I started my weight loss journey in November 2020. I lost 30 pounds six months after giving birth. I lost a total of 50 pounds after a year. Now, two years later, I have been consistent in maintaining that 50 pound weight loss.

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No weight loss surgery. I did everything naturally.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned so far is to give myself grace. Not every day is going to be easy. In fact, some days are going to be tough as hell. So if I slip up and eat a cheeseburger, I don’t have to be so down on myself. I just pick up where I left off and go hard.

Life is not a straight line. There will be ups and downs, but the journey is worth it all.
