PAK vs AFG. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released the names of the team’s support staff for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan. PCB appointed former pacer Umar Gul as bowling coach and Abdul Rehman as interim head coach. Mohammad Yousuf and Abdul Majeed will retain their positions as batting coach and fielding coach respectively. Shadab Khan, meanwhile, will lead Pakistan’s new-look Twenty20 side after the selectors on Monday rested five senior players, including all-format captain Babar Azam. Abdul Rehman is a famous talent scout in the northern region of the country. He is an experienced trainer in the internal system with more than ten years of experience. He currently serves as an assistant coach with Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League. He also helped the Pakistan Under-19 team when Bangladesh visited Multan in November last year.

On the other hand, after his retirement, Umar Gul immediately started coaching, taking up the position of bowling coach with Quetta Gladiators in the PSL. He also served as Afghanistan’s bowling coach for a brief spell last year before his tenure expired in December.
