Xtra Time Web Desk. Indian captain Rohit Sharma has revealed a number of plans to prepare well for the World Test Championship final against Australia in June. Indian race bowling trio Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav will be handed red Duke balls to practice during IPL 2023.

BCCI will arrange dukes balls for Indian pacers to practice in the nets during IPL 2023. India captain Rohit Sharma confirmed the same after completing the fourth Test against Australia. The Indian team management is leaving no stone unturned and has already started planning for the WTC 2023 final, which will start just one week after the IPL 2023. The IPL 2023 final is on May 28 and the WTC final will be played on June 7-11. In the oval.

Test players who are part of IPL franchises and have not qualified for the play-offs will be asked to leave early for a two-week preparation camp in the UK to acclimatise. All the fast bowlers who are likely to be part of the Indian Test squad for the WTC final will be monitored by the BCCI.

“We will monitor the workload and the bowlers will be given dukki balls during the IPL for practice ahead of the WTC final. Six teams will be out of the IPL by May 21, so we will try to bring those players to UK early,” Rohit said at the post-match press conference in Ahmedabad.

He added: “The lads who will be in the finals are not the lads who haven’t played in the UK. There might be a guy or two here and there, and we’ve all played in that part of the world. I don’t think it will be a big problem. Look, I believe that preparations will be key for us, come the final.”
