Owners of a Pixel Watch or Fitbit device today get a pretty solid free bonus that they used to have to pay for. Google and Fitbit announced that the Health Metrics tab in the Fitbit app, which shows you important health-related information over time, is now included for free for all users.
Formerly a Fitbit Premium feature, Health Metrics displays respiration rate, skin temperature (if supported), oxygen saturation (SpO2), resting heart rate (RHR), and heart rate variability (HRV). This data can be viewed as a daily measure as well as trending at 7-day, 30-day and 90-day intervals.
While not to be used as a substitute for professional medical guidance, this information can be helpful if you’re tracking your cycle, wondering if you’re getting sick (or struggling with something), and whether your health is improving over time (or it gets). worse): If anything, when you follow these indicators, you start to know what your starting point is, and if one ends in a day, you can start asking questions about your previous day. Did you exercise more or less, eat 8 slices of pizza, drink 5 beers or a few cocktails before bed, or have a terrible night’s sleep? All of that can have an impact on these numbers.
To access your Health Metrics dashboard, you’ll log into the Fitbit app and scroll down the home page until you see “Health Metrics.” If for some reason you don’t see it, you can click the Edit button above and add it to your main dashboard.
Once in the Health Metrics area, you’ll find an overview of your day and another tab for trends over 7-day, 30-day, and 90-day periods.
Time to go exploring! Also, why would anyone pay for Fitbit Premium now?
