Xtra Time Web Desk. The East Bengal club are in advanced talks with Spanish coach Sergio Lobera to improve their performances in the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) season. According to reports, talks between East Bengal and Lobera are at an advanced stage, but he is yet to sign the contract.

If Lobera agrees to the deal, he will replace former India coach Stephen Constantine, who is currently in charge of the team’s Super Bowl campaign in Kerala. Lobera has previous coaching experience in India, having led FC Goa to the League Winner’s Shield and Super Cup between 2017 and 2020. He then won the ISL Shield and Trophy double in his only season with Mumbai City FC before moving to Division One in China. League: Coach Sichuan Juniu.

East Bengal have struggled in the ISL since joining the league in 2020, finishing 9th, 11th and 9th respectively in the last three seasons. The team has had three different managers in the last three years and Englishman Constantine has made some promising signings this season but has been unable to turn their fortunes around. The club hope that Lobera’s expertise can help revive their fortunes in the coming season.
