Delicious Orange Chicken – Faster Than Take Out!!!

Orange Chicken is one of my favorite takeout dishes. Now…… I would rather cook at home. This recipe is very easy to make and really gives the chicken a nice flavor. I think the hardest part of this recipe is peeling the orange (and it’s really not that hard to do), but it’s one of the best parts of the recipe. Important tips for cooking orange chicken

The best tip for any recipe is to get all the ingredients out first. This is a very quick recipe.

So there are 3 ways to cook the chicken for this recipe 1. Air fry 2. Bake or 3. Stir fry. They are all easy and depend on how you want to cook the chicken. In the long run, stir-frying chicken is the easiest way, since there’s only one pan to clean. Cooking the chicken is the same steps for all three methods (air fry, bake or stir fry).

Cooking chicken

For a delicious orange chicken, it’s nice to cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces. Then marinate the chicken in the orange juice. Yes, orange juice. It sounds weird, but it really puts the orange flavor into the chicken. We used freshly squeezed orange juice, but bottled OJ will work just as well and is cheaper than buying oranges. If you get bottled oj, just remember that you still need an orange or two to have the zest for the recipe. Place the sliced ​​chicken breasts in a bowl of OJ and marinate for at least 30 minutes, but no more than an hour.

After marinating for 30 minutes, drain the chicken and discard the orange juice. Toss the chicken in the spices (cornstarch, cumin, garlic, salt and turmeric). There are three ways to make delicious orange chicken.

  1. Air Fry – Place seasoned chicken in a 400 degree oven for 18 minutes.
  2. Bake – Place on a baking sheet and cook in a 400 degree oven for 25 minutes or until done.
  3. Stir Fry – Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan. Cook the chicken in a pan. When the chicken is done, remove and use the pan for the sauce.

Preparation of sauce

Peel the orange and remove as much of the white part of the orange peel as possible. Don’t forget to wash the orange peel before peeling. Cut the orange peel into strips. (One of the best parts of this delicious orange chicken is the orange peel.) Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a pan. Add the minced ginger, minced garlic, and if you want something sweet and spicy, add the chopped Habanero. Fry for a few minutes, then add the sliced ​​orange peel. Fry for about 3 minutes. Add orange juice, soy sauce and maple syrup (or honey). Bring to a boil and simmer until sauce is reduced by about half.

Add the cooked chicken to the sauce mixture and toss. If the sauce needs to be thicker, add cornstarch. (Mix 1 tablespoon of corn starch with 2 tablespoons of water). Add the cornstarch mixture to the sauce and chicken. It will thicken and glaze the chicken.

  • 1: tea spoon in Turku

  • 1: Table spoon Olive oil
  • 2: Carnation Garlic Finely chopped or ground material

  • 1 1/2 Cups Orange juice
  • 1/4 cup Maple juice
  • 1: Table spoon Soy sauce

Instructions:

Prepare chicken

  • Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces

  • Drain the chicken and discard the orange juice marinade. Put the chicken in the spices (cornstarch, cumin, garlic, salt, turmeric)

  • Spray fan with cooking spray (we used olive oil spray) If baking, spray baking sheet with cooking spray. If we mix, heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a panFry with air. Place the chicken in the air basket. Cook at 400 degrees for 18 minutes. Baking. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 25 minutes. If we mix, then fry the chicken in a frying pan with oil until it is cooked to the end.

Orange glow

  • Peel the orange, remove as much of the white part of the orange as possible and cut the orange peel into thin slices.

    Peel 2 oranges

  • Finely chop the ginger and garlic. Heat the olive oil in a large pan and add the ginger and garlic. (You’ll be adding the cooked chicken later, so make sure you use a pan big enough to fit everything in)

    2 cloves of garlic, 2 tablespoons of ginger, 1 tablespoon of olive oil

  • Add the orange peel to the pan. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes. If using Habanero, add orange zest.

  • Combine all dressing ingredients (orange juice, maple syrup and soy sauce) and add to pan.

  • Bring the sauce to a boil (takes about 3 or 4 minutes). Turn off the boil. Simmer, stirring often, until sauce is reduced by about half. This takes about 10 minutes

  • After the sauce has reduced by about half. Add cooked chicken (air fried, baked or stir fried) to the sauce. Stir the chicken into the sauce and continue to cook until the sauce has completely coated the chicken with a nice sheen. If the sauce needs to be thicker, make cornstarch powder (mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl). Pour the cornstarch mixture into the pan with the sauce and chicken. Stir until the sauce thickens.

    1 tablespoon of cornstarch

  • Serve with rice or cauliflower rice. Or enjoy on its own.
