“City” signed a new contract with Julian Alvarez

23-year-old Manchester City striker and World Cup winner Julian Alvarez recently extended his contract with the club for one year. The deal will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2028. Alvarez has already scored 10 goals in 33 appearances for Manchester City in his first season since joining from River Plate. He also scored four times for Argentina in December’s World Cup triumph in Qatar.

Initially, Alvarez’s contract was scheduled until the end of the 2026/27 season. However, after a promising start with the club, Manchester City decided to extend his contract for another year. Alvarez expressed his pride and gratitude to the club for their continued belief in him. He said he has been happy with his performance so far but there is always room for improvement and he believes Manchester City can give him everything he needs to reach his full potential.

Director of Football Tkhiki Begiristain praised Alvarez’s positive attitude and development since joining Manchester City. He noted that the young forward is an inspiration to anyone who wants to make their way in the game. Begiristain believes Alvarez has shown exceptional movement and natural goal-scoring instincts during his time at Manchester City, and he hopes to develop his game further to make him one of the best strikers in the world.
