ILOILO CITY – Bacolod City will be the next host of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) midseason extravaganza.
Commissioner Willie Marcial revealed that the City of Smiles will be the next location after a pleasant meeting with Mayor Albie Benitez on Saturday night.
The exhibition will be held in the yet-to-be-completed arena, the league chief added.
The development comes on the heels of the successful staging of the All-Star festivities in Pasay City.
Team Jappet ran away from Team Scotty, 140-136, in a thrilling battle that featured some tricks, namely player timeout sweeps, the 4-point line and three-point shots.
Paul Lee shined brightest in the contest, scoring 32 points on 7-of-13 from the extended range to become the Most Valuable Player of the weekend, he also won the 3-point contest.
Approximately 4,000 spectators filled the small City of Passi Arena.
Sunday’s event marked the first time the league held an All-Star weekend. The last time this was done was in 2019 in Calasiao, before the break caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
